Join RiverLink, Land of Sky Regional Council, and the Town of Weaverville

for a free hands-on workshop learning about invasive management and live staking techniques.

Participants will learn about invasive plants and best ways to remove them. Participants will also plant live stakes along stream located in Weaverville Main Street Nature Park. Live staking is a cost-effective way to reduce erosion on a stream bank and reduce the amount of sediment entering our waterways.

Date & Time: From 10am - 2:30pm, on Saturday March 16th, 2024

Location: Weaverville Main Street Nature Park

Workshop Outline:

- 1st half: Removing invasive plants from Weaverville Main St. Nature Park

- Lunch break: Participants will need to bring their own lunch.

- 2nd half: Planting live stakes to stabilize stream banks, stream also located in the park.

*Free live stake giveaway for participants who attend both sessions*

RiverLink will provide all necessary tools and equipment. Close-toed shoes are required and long sleeves/long pants are highly recommended. We also recommend everyone bring a water bottle. Please contact sandra@riverlink.org if you have any questions or cancellations.

We look forward to seeing you there!
