ASHEVILLE, N.C. - (Sept. 19, 2019) - Asheville Police Department (APD) responded to a call just before 3 a.m. this morning regarding a shooting on Brooklyn Road. Officers arrived and a short time later were informed that a victim of the shooting may be located on Kent Street off of Shiloh Road. Once on Kent Street, officers discovered 53 year-old Aaron Maurice Baird shot in the leg and sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle.

Upon arrival officers discovered a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. She was transported to Mission Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
