Rutherford County -- The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office announced late today:

On Monday, 10/30/2023, Investigators assigned to the Rutherford County Street Crimes Unit, assisted by Deputy Steve Lytle with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol, responded to 742 NC HWY 120 in Mooresboro in reference to attempting to locate Casey Ray Daniel Brooks, who was wanted on numerous felony charges. 

Brooks has been eluding law enforcement since 2020. Once at the residence, Investigators were advised by numerous subjects at the residence that Brooks was not there, and they hadn’t seen him, even though evidence at the residence proved otherwise. Investigators conducted a search of the residence. 

During the search, Investigators located a trap door in the floor of a room concealed under a rug. Brooks was located under the residence and was taken into custody. As a result of the investigation, investigators also charged Danny Ray Brooks and Jessica Breanna Green.

Casey Brooks received a $95,000 secured bond. In addition to the above charges, Casey Brooks will be served with Possession of Firearm by Felon, Possess Methamphetamine, and two counts of Resisting Public Officer(X2), all out of Cleveland County.

Resisting Public Officer
Danny Brooks received a written promise to appear.
Jessica Breanna Green, 23 of Ellenboro:
Resisting Public Officer

Ms. Green didn’t receive a bond and will wait until a District Court Judge sets her bond.
