Man Arrested in West Asheville Church Break-ins

Asheville -- October 24, 2023: The Asheville Police Department's Patrol Officers apprehended and charged an individual for committing burglaries at a West Asheville Church.

These incidents occurred over a span of two days. 

APD Officers were dispatched to a church located at the 100 block of State Street on the mornings of October 18 and 19 to investigate reports of someone breaking into a shed and into a church member's vehicle, stealing lawn equipment and tools. 

Law enforcement agents acquired surveillance footage and identified Marcus Tyler Hanshaw as the perpetrator involved in both occurrences.
