9PM UPDATE: An arrest warrant has been issued for 40-year-old Brian Keith Leonhart, charging him with Armed Robbery and Firearm by felon in connection with this afternoon's First Citizens Bank robbery. 
He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, and a white hat. He was last known to be driving a white 2010 Mitsubishi Endeavor with Florida tag #DHL-L59.

Asheville Police Respond to Bank Robbery on Tunnel Road

(ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Aug. 5, 2019) - Asheville Police Department (APD) responded to a report of a bank robbery around 3:30 p.m. this afternoon. A man walked into the First Citizens Bank at 1201 Tunnel Road, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. He fled east on Tunnel Road in a white SUV.

Suspect is described as a white man, about 6' tall, weighing between 230-250 pounds wearing a tan baseball cap, green short, camouflage cargo shorts, with tattoos on both forearms. His left eye is bruised.
