Not your normal museum, the Asheville Pinball Museum is unique.

In most museums, the objects on show are meant to be viewed, not touched. This museum is an exception. Here, the few items that are solely on display outnumber those that you are invited to touch by a large margin.

There are more than 35 pinball machines up front, dating from the 1930s to the present. The bulk date from the 1950s through the 1980s and are playable and functional. 30+ different old video games are available in the video game arcade in the back. Donkey Kong, PacMan, Q*bert, Galaga, and other games are among them.

You won't only find games in the museum. Vintage pinball, arcade, and pop-culture memorabilia is displayed on walls and shelves, sure to evoke a wealth of memories in the hearts of people of a certain age. You might be able to bring home your favorite old game since some of the machines are even for sale!

Visitors to the museum pay a one-time price for token-free, all-day access to the games. You'll find the museum also sells food, soda, and beer.
