Summer Nights & Local Sounds: Boone's Free Jones House Concert Series Kicks Off June 6th!

Boone --  Get ready to tap your feet and relax on the lawn! Downtown Boone's beloved Summer Concerts at the Jones House are tuning up for another fantastic season, bringing free live music to the heart of the community every Friday evening from June through August.

The series officially kicks off on Friday, June 6th, marking the start of a summer filled with incredible local and regional talent.

For years, the Jones House lawn has been the go-to spot for locals and visitors alike to unwind after the work week. Starting at 5:30 PM each Friday (with a special 5:00 PM start for Doc Watson Day on Aug 15th), the concerts offer a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Just bring your favorite lawn chair or a cozy blanket, find a spot on the grass, and let the music wash over you. Don't worry about summer showers; these concerts are held rain or shine, making them a reliable date for your calendar.

The musical lineup is as diverse as the High Country itself, promising something for nearly every taste. Expect to hear everything from traditional bluegrass and old-time rhythms to smooth jazz, soulful folk, original songwriter showcases, and more. It's a fantastic opportunity to discover new regional favorites and support local artists.

Highlights this year include the kickoff with the talented Beppe Gambetta / Clay Lunsford & Matthew Weaver on June 6th, a special JazzFest performance featuring the Herb Stephens Quartet on June 13th, a tie-in with the Boonerang Music & Arts Festival on June 20th, and the much-anticipated Doc Watson Day celebration on August 15th, featuring The Wilder Flower, Tim Stafford & Thomm Jutz, and the Asheville Mountain Boys. And don't forget the Watauga Community Band's special performance during the Boone July 4th Parade!

Making it even better, these concerts are completely free and open to the public. If you're 21 or older, you're welcome to bring alcoholic beverages, but please keep open containers within the Jones House property. Finding a spot is easy too, as parking is free in downtown Boone's metered spaces and lots after 5:00 PM on Fridays.
