Asheville VA Announces PGA HOPE Golf 2024 Summer Instructional Lessons
PGA HOPE is the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. PGA HOPE introduces golf to all Veterans in order to enhance their mental, social, physical and emotional well-being.
The PGA of America and local PGA Professionals are working closely with the VA system across the country to assist Veterans in their transition.
Sessions are taught by PGA HOPE NATIONAL TRAINER, Brian Oliver and local PGA Professionals with assistance from trained volunteers and include clubs and equipment if needed, training aids, range balls and weekly golf course access.

Buncombe County Doggie Eggstavaganza March 23, 2024!
Did someone say Doggie Eggstravaganza?!
We are excited to be hosting our first doggie egg hunt at Buncombe County Sports Park's dog park on Saturday, March 23 at 12 p.m. This event will offer some springtime fun for our furry friends, and will consist of a small and large dog division. Each division will have approximately 30 minutes to find as many hidden eggs (filled with treats) as possible. In addition to hidden treats, dogs who collect the most eggs will receive a special prize. While admission is free, pre-registration is required as there are limited spots available. Registration is open and will close on March 20.

Sand Hill Community Garden / 1st Gardening Day 2024 Saturday!
Have you been interested in learning organic gardening techniques?
Sand Hill Community Garden will be hosting their first gardening day of the 2024 season this Saturday, March 2 from 12-2 p.m. at Buncombe County Sports Park! New volunteers are always welcome to join in on the wonderful work that the Sand Hill Community Garden does year-round, while learning best organic gardening practices
**Did you know that they grew 2,227lbs of fresh vegetables and herbs last year, AND Donated 1672 lbs of produce to local food pantries?**
This Saturday, there will be peas, carrots, and spinach seeds to plant in soil that will be nice and damp from earlier rain, as well as some garden bed cleanup! If you are interested in volunteering, please email lynn.pegg@buncombecounty.org.
