Haywood County -- August 25, 2024: Haywood County Government News: If you own agricultural property in Haywood

County, now is the time to possibly take advantage of funding opportunities that can help protect and preserve your land.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS) is offering funding through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) as part of the Agricultural Conservation Easements Program (ACEP).

This program provides financial assistance for two types of easements: Agricultural Land Easements (ALE), which help keep farmland in agricultural production, and Wetland Reserve Easements (WRE), which focus on restoring and protecting wetland areas. Haywood County is a priority area for this funding, meaning local landowners have a great opportunity to secure financial support.

The application deadline is October 4, so if you’re interested in learning more or applying, visit the USDA-NRCS website for detailed information on how to get started: nrcs.usda
