Pedestrian Dies in Asheville Hit and Run

ASHEVILLE -- A victim of a hit and run early this morning has died. Authorities need help from the public to find the driver. 

"The Asheville Police Department is requesting assistance to gather information on a hit and run that resulted in a pedestrian fatality early this morning at approximately 2:48 a.m. The incident occurred at the intersection of Max Street and South Charlotte Street. A pedestrian was attempting to cross at the intersection when they were struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.

APD is working to notify the victim's next of kin.
