Rainy Days and Mondays

RainyDay

Today is Monday. Where I live, the sun is shining. Birds are singing, there's a beautiful breeze, sadness is overwhelming.

Words are spoken online, on television, I hear cries of help, I hear cries of mourning, of loss. So many times, over and over again. There are shootings every day, people living in fear every day in their home, walking down the street, children playing, going to school are in danger.

Mass shootings are increasing. I hear empty words of what needs to be done, analyzing, empty promises made.

A few days will go by, time to "heal." The community is now "healing" and trying to get back to life.

Daily life continues for those in areas of fear, real danger day and night. Hate will continue to spew, violence will continue.

Another mass shooting will occur, words will be spoken, cries of help, cries of mourning and loss, empty words of what needs to be done. Analyzing again and more promises will be made.

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, getting the same result, but expecting a different one.

I would say that definition seems to fit our society, wouldn't you?
