Man Charged in Theft of Over $175,000 of Jewelry in Buncombe County
Buncombe County -- January 24, 2025: Buncombe County Sheriff's Office: The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office charged Dinu Kozhokar
after an investigation determined he stole watches.
Detectives began investigating on December 22, 2024. It was determined he stole five Rolex watches, three bracelets, and one necklace after breaking into a safe. The victim was not home at the time
Kozhokar was a handyman used by the family and is charged with:
-Felony Safecracking
-Felony Larceny
-Felony Obtain Property by False Pretense
-Felony Larceny
-Felony Obtain Property by False Pretense
Two watches, a necklace, and a bracelet were recovered from a pawn shop. Three more watches and two more bracelets were recovered when Kozhokar was taken into custody. He was released on $25,000 unsecured bond.
