Update Asheville VA Medical Center Important Info
Asheville -- October 2, 2024: Charles George VA Asheville NC News: Currently, the Charles George VA Medical Center,
part of the Western North Carolina VA Health Care System (WNCVAHCS), and two of its Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) are open for essential and emergency services, focusing on high-risk and vulnerable patients.
Our communication is limited, but our computer systems and internet are restored. Based on clinical triage the highest risk Veterans have been contacted for emergency appointments. We will continue the same process for the rest of the week. However, the majority of regularly scheduled appointments have been cancelled in support of emergency services and are being assessed daily.
Hickory and Franklin CBOCs will begin regular operations on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. The main facility in Asheville and the Jerry K. Crump VA Clinic, Forest City will remain closed pending the full restoration of power.
How to get to the Charles George VA Medical Center If exiting 40 on exit 55, please be aware that the bridge connecting the Gas station and VRQ is currently out of service.
