Three Arrested, One Wanted on Federal Indictment in Asheville

Asheville -- June 8, 2024: Three felons were apprehended by Asheville Police Detectives on narcotic charges

during proactive enforcement on Thursday afternoon.

During proactive enforcement, detectives encountered Darion Armon Smith, who was sought for Federal Probation Violations. Smith was apprehended near the 100 block of Atkinson Street at approximately 3:44 p.m. on June 6th.

Simultaneously, detectives apprehended Ronald Winslow Mackey Jr., who was discovered to be in possession of drugs, and Otis Anthony Edgerton Jr., who was sought on a federal indictment for Possession of Firearm by Felon. Both individuals were apprehended without incident.
