Waynesville -- March 16, 2022 Detectives have linked a suspect to 20 occurrences of catalytic converter

larceny dating back to December 2020. Detectives of the Waynesville Police Department were able to gather important information and facts pertaining to these crimes earlier this month with the help of attentive Patrol Officers.

Detective Evan Davis charged Calvin Glen Medford with 40 felony charges in connection with these 20 cases on March 14, 2021. Medford, who is being held on unrelated charges, was handed a $100,000 bond increase.
Detectives are still looking for more possible victims as well as anyone else who may have been involved in these crimes. Victims have been reported to have lost between $30,000 and $40,000 as a result of these crimes.

"The proactive actions of our patrol officers and an in-depth follow-up investigation by our Detectives led to the arrests of Calvin Medford. Their dedicated efforts helped solve these cases. These types of crimes create a significant expense to the victims and businesses, hopefully, this will lead to some restitution through adjudication." Chief David Adams
